Our Christmas Blend for 2025 is once again sourced from three different farms/co-ops from Costa Rica, Kenya and Ethiopia. At a Medium Roast level, the flavor is lush with notes berries, sweet spice and toffee-like finish. This wonderfully flavorful blend is a perfect accompaniment to any holiday dinner or lazy brunch get-together.

The Costa Rican component is from a women-owned farm called Finca Danto near Zarcero in the West Valley. The coffee is a variety called Villa Sarchi and is processed as a "White Honey" lot, meaning the beans are mechanically washed removing all but a thin layer of fruit and then soaked under water and then sun-dried on raised beds. Maria Elena Castro uses her own micro-mill called Monte Brisas to do her own processing and control her excellent quality.

The Kenya part of blend is from a lot sourced from the 477 member Gichichi cooperative in the famed Nyeri County growing area on the edge of Mt Kenya. This lot is sorted as the largest bean size AA. These big beans are a blend of traditional Kenyan Bourbon and newer hybrid varieties. In the cup, this small lot's powerful acidity creates complexity and sweet spice in our Medium Roast level.

The Ethiopia portion of the blend is from one of our favorite farms in Ethiopia's southern Guji Zone. The Kayon Mountain Coffee Farm has about 300 hectares planted in coffee and is owned by Ismael Hassen Aredo and his family. This lot is a natural process meaning the coffee cherries once harvested from the trees are dried on raised beds in the sun with the entire cherry intact. This helps create the complex berry-like notes we love so much in our blend.
